PROJECT MANAGER - HVAC/R AND MECHANICAL 

 

Position Overview:

Seeking a seasoned, motivated and driven Project Manager to join our growing team of professionals that possesses the education, experience and versatility to handle our client’s mechanical and HVAC/R service, design and installation and energy management needs.  The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project and is responsible for managing the project costs, field labor, sub contractors, and a safe on-time completion that is under budget.  The ideal candidate will be seeking a long-term relationship with an employer to further their career. This is a full-time and exempt (salaried) position.

Since 1905, Elliott-Lewis and its family of companies have a reputation of being a premier provider of Mechanical Services, Facilities Management, and Crane Rentals.  Elliott-Lewis Corporation is a full-service HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) contractor.  The Mechanical Services deparment provides maintenance, repair and operations, as well as new installations, replacements, design/build and building automation control services to commercial, industrial and governmental customers.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the installation of HVAC/R systems that meet code requirements, budget, and on time installation.
  • Evaluate, estimate and set up job costing system with labor, material and subcontract cost codes.
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals to reflect contract drawing and specifications.
  • Prepare monthly reports and conduct cost reviews to catch deviations from a plan or schedule, and keep all participants and stakeholders informed to bring the job in on time and under budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relations with customers, general contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Work closely with outside superintendent and job foreman in directing field labor.

  

Required Skills:

  • Education: 4 year degree in construction management OR applicable field work experience in the HVAC/R industry
  • Minimum of 5 years verifiable project management experience working for a mechanical contractor in the industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Balance communications between internal and external customers at all levels
  • Capable of pivoting between small and large sized projects and respective change orders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically: Excel, Word, and Outlook

 

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Dynamics/GP (an accounting software) experience highly desired
  • DocLink software (an Accounts Payable SAAS) experience highly desired
  • Microsoft Office experience in SharePoint and Teams
  • Experience with DocuSign

 

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly requires a high degree of mental effort, talk and hear, gross and fine manipulation, read both print and screens for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Regularly required to walk and sit 
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, lift 25 lbs. max, stand and stoop, kneel, or crouch, and climb stairs  
  • Expected to work in a loud level of volume environment.
