Elliott-Lewis is offering an Internship to learn what it is like to work at a Facilities Management company. Interviews for this internship will begin now, the first day of work is expected to be late October, and the projected work schedule is 5 hours per day three days per week (a total of 15 hours per week).  Work begins at 11:30 am and finishes at 4:30 pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review reports for typos and errors.
  • Answer phones in the office.
  • Organize paperwork coming in from the employees.
  • Help employees use technology such as iPads) when needed.
  • Relay messages to various team members across the building.
  • Shadow Chief Engineers and Subcontractors.
  • Work well with a team that consists of management and maintenance staff, vendors, associates and other internal and external contacts.

 

Required Skills  

  • Must be enrolled at high school
  • Ability to report to work in Center City
  • Must maintain professional competence, integrity, basic industry knowledge
  • Must be comfortable using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be able to read and comprehend complicated materials and instructions and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing

 

Preferred Skills 

  • OSHA 10 Certificate
  • Driver’s License in good order greatly valued

 

Physical Requirements

  • Consistently Required: Walking, standing, bending, or twisting 
  • Frequently Required:  Bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling. Working with various chemicals 
  • Occasionally Required: Working with arms raised over head.  Max carries 50lbs. Push/pull 40-75lbs.  Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.  Working from or on ladders.  Working at heights.  Exposure to high sound levels.  Operate motorized equipment.
